The frame

Of course, photography is an art. I think it is also an opportunity to grab the time and perfect moment. Sometimes the composition makes proud and some time it make regreting for long. The secret behind this is the happiness. If we will be satisfied from our creation I think the punctuation of life starts from there.. The hunger is the mother of creativity.. Here I am going to talk about the story about the hungry. It was the story of a week ago. There was a small party by my Muslim and Jewish friends in house. They organized that party in collaboration as a symbol of universal brotherhood.

While I arrived on the house from the college it was a little bit late. Every one has already grabbed the beers and wines whatever they like.. Some of them were on the way to be drunk.I was so hungry and planned to eat some thing first before the alcohol. When I just bend to grab the food from the table I noticed very good composition on the background. In that moment I liked that. Instantly I took my camera and grabbed it. Later I liked that frame too much. I was not satisfied from just a picutre, so, whole that party I saw through the eye of wine . I found the white wine is excellent than the red, since it is more transperent.

My wonderful weekend

This weekend was one of the wonderful weekend I ever have in my life, which I spend almost whole time playing on the snow. I realized that the snow which looks so cruel and freezing is actally not like that. This could be a great fun too.The trip was organized by our execuative director to his country house for scholars. So I was one of the team members including six other lucky fellows to take part .
All the all, the weather was also with us. The first day when we reached 130 km North from Montreal, the day was snowing heavily. So we started our day with the snow shoes to walk around.I saw a lot on hollywood movies that the people are waking on the snow .It was my time to be a hero on the ice to face the reality. Interestingly, the atsmosphere was warm . I walked a lot on the ice but later knew that was the lake..which was full of ice..soft and fresh was on the top and the hard and froozen on the bottom.I could able to walk around the whole lake...with the traditional snow shoes called racket, same like the badminton.

The most exciting part of the day was dogs sledge. All most eight dogs were tied in one rope and were pulling the man carrying on the back. One person can be passenger and one should be driver on the back, who supposed to help the dogs. "Mash" this is the word to drive the dogs.. I found the dogs were also trained to run on the ice after getting this word. This was not just a fun but it was an opportunity to face the life of people who are living in such condition. And of course it was life time experience to me. In moment I thought that I am in the Antartica and spending wildlife with those dogs. Bright day, chilly weather with unbelievable moment. The dogs were running on their way over the snow clad lake and I was busy with taking picutres and enjoying the atmosphere. First few minutes I was hesitate to walk on the ice covered lake but soon felt relaxed to do that..It was really adventure and majestic... There were almost 135 dogs to serve the people like me who wants to take such pleasure.

The next day became more exciting.. I tried skis..long blades tied with the legs was quiet difficult to walk for few minutes. My both legs were being heavy and difficult to slide over the snow . Try to slide over the snow field with the help of snow wasn't amazing ? yes it was.Absolutely it was amazing and risky too.. I tried to slide down from the small hill but loose the balance several time. So I decided to practice on the ground first. Indeed which became very wise decision...I successed to slide well ..The ice was trying to enter in my feets since both of them were on the snow and my boot were not able to control the piles of ice.. When it was in my feets I felt like that I was walking bare foot on the sharp blades for while...but soon it used to melt . This process was continuied almost half day...I noticed very late that my shocks were almost wet and paining my my feets.
I enjoyed rest of the day on sliding in vertical slope area, with the help of some plastic things .It was difficult and risk too . Hiding on the piles of snow while being slide and try to came out from the cold, fell down on the cold ice and keep on sliding ,became my task for whole day. Like a making house of sand on sea beach. Even I was not tired nor sad.I was doing that very sincerely just like a school boy doing his classwork . It was my assumption that I was so stupid to love the snow and play with it without caring anything..But, by the end of that day I met hundreds of people who came to play with the snow and escape from the crowded city,Montreal. The people who were grown up with the snow were even not seemed satisfied to enjoy by an hours , so how could I be satisfied by just few an hours ? Those people could come to enjoy there at any time on their life but I rarely got that chance on my life, who knows I could get it again or not ??? so I kept on enjoying for whole day.........

My first skating

One of the most difficult time of Montreal is winter. The winter is very cruel here. Heavily snow falls as a rusult, the roads and grounds always covers with ice. The city authority will clean the snow of roads and footpaths but eventhough the situation will be same in next day.Every car running with heavy snow on the top and tresspassers breathing from thick jacket gives a glimpse of daily life here. Now a days, the temperature falls down to -20 degree without wind at night. People, who are living here for years says that it goes up to -40 degree in Feb. Since the city is in Northen hemisphere it will not get enough sunlight during the winter season. So the day begans only after 7.30 am. The watch will be running on its time but the charm of day will began very late. There is not any guarantee to see the sun light for days and even weeks and months. If there is sun light that will be the brightest and happiest day. But the sun works only as a source of light and don't give any heat. Interestingly that day will be coldest day on night time. As like as morning the day will also pass very soon. After 4 or 4.30 PM it will be completely dark.

When there is problem there is solution too. The people are trained to pass this hard time . So they will not afraid from the snow but they have developed the deep friendship with snow through the skating and x-country . If the day is sunny and bright thousands of people can be seen in the park enjoying with the snow. I never realized age is the major factor here. Either old, young, teens or even kids seems playing with the snows. Perhaps this is the reason that the Ice Hockey is the most popular game in Canada. Here people says that who doesnot know to play the Ice hockey and cannoing on the river they are not Canadian.

So I also decided to enjoy with the snow rather than being afraid .We have lots of snow in our country and I never had chance to play with it. So I did not have any experience about this. Eventhough I was so excited to play skating on ice. My scholars fellow they also never had experience of skating but even they are diffrent from me because they do not have ice in their country. I hired the boot in $7 and started to collect experience of skating, first time in my life. First few minutes I felt hard to adjust with the boot having blades. This was almost carring a two kilos of stone on my feets. When I began to skat I fell down several times.I hardly could make up my balance on ice..Fell down and hardly stand up, again try to learn skat. It was quiet difficult since I could not catch anything else to stand up easily. It was very easy to fall down but very difficult to stand up Rising and falling ......It was going on ... In the meantime a boy near about 7-8 years old came infront of me and asked " Do you speak French?" I replied "no". " You are skating so funny" His comments did not made me disappointment but I tried to convince him that do not laugh upon me because its my first time. Probably he got kind to me and taught me some techniques to keep the balance. I followed him but could not catch his steps. He used to make three or four rounds when I hardly tried to make one round. He saved me several times to fall down but my weight made to fall down him too. It was really funny way that I was learning. I could not met twice or thrice to my colleagues who came with me on ring.Later I found that they already gave up. Perhaps by seeing my poor performance on ring, who met me there they were trying to teach some idea how to hold my body. Some were saying keep our hands under the wrest some were suggesting me to litte bend and some were saying to make my steps straight...I found that ever french canadian knows how to skate. Probably they learned by born. Every one was enjoying the skating... I found there all kind of people. Few were kids most of them were youths and many were over 50's. It seems that the skating is in every canadian's blood. It looked like that the parents teaches to skate their children since their legs are ready to hold.

Actually it looked easy but it was hard for me. The snow was not new thing for me but eventhouh it became new for me. "Don't take it pressure try to learn with the music you will learn automatically. I learned by catching his wheelchairs" a women with having white hair came to me and suggested. She was pointing to the man who lost his both legs in an accident and was enjoying skating on his wheelchairs" he is my son". " I am 67 and It is my third time here, but I never felt difficult to do it" probably she was inspiring me to learn. " Where are you from?" she was curious to me.. "Nepal" . She instantly replied "you have mountains isn;t it ? I said "yes"." Then how could it be your first time in snow ?" I became unanswered.

It was freezing cold eventhough I was not feeling any cold but I was sweating a lot. My body was almost wet. Sweating from inside and ice from outside... I enjoyed almost two hours in that way. Thousands of people were enjoying on ice. Some were sliding some were walking and some were hiting there body rubbing with their beloved ones and with"french kiss". I was excited when there was snow fall in Fulchowki and Nagarkot. But hardly get chance to enjoy there like this. It was just chance to see and feel the snow. I experienced the snow in Mustang and Humla, where I saw excellent places to enjoy. Probably I was the lucky person to see such places of my country. I can say without doubt that many of our Nepali people have not get chance to enjoy the snow in own country. We have a lot of places like this but we used to take it as burden. When there is snow every one has to migrate to the flat lands.. It is our bad luck that we people can not enjoy any ice sports in own country. Many people around the world knows that we have Himalays and lots of places covered with snow snow for all seasons. But even though when they will questioned about the snow and the game we have to keep quiet. I don't know how long ?

Nepal’s media under attack
By Bashudev Baskota

Radio Sagarmatha, the first community radio station in South Asia and the vanguard of media freedom in Nepal became the latest media organisation to come under fire by the government when government officials raided its premises, looted broadcast equipment and arrested four journalists for simply trying to re broadcast the BBC news.

Under constant threat has been increased since the Royal take over of executive power in February. King Gynandra sacked the country’s prime minister and took over executive power blaming the government of not doing enough to counter the Maoist insurgency that has taken over 12,000 lives in this landlocked Himalayan kingdom.

Journalists have been at the centre of criticism and attacks in the wake of political instability in this tiny mountainous nation, which is suffering from a power struggle between the Palace and the Maoist rebels, who are demanding a Communist state.

Armed guards were stationed at Kathmandu print and broadcast media organisations in February and material to be printed or broadcast were screened by officials who took harsh action against journalists who countered or challenged the Royal takeover.

The Nepali media, which has been covering the Maoist insurgency for the past decade thus started making international news with journalists resorting to clever means like using metaphors to attack the monarch and escape official gate-keeping.

Nevertheless, the past 10 months have been a particularly trying period for Nepali journalism. It is estimated that about half of all newspapers publishing prior to the coup have closed now and that those that remain have been significantly reduced in size. A report by the International Press Freedom and Freedom of Expression mission to Nepal in July, suggests that many media organisations are financially vulnerable due to cuts in advertising and censorship and may not survive for long.

According to the Worldwide Press Freedom Index 2005 published by Reporters Sans Frontiers (RSF), two journalists were killed, 13 kidnapped, more than 400 journalists arrested or imprisoned by the security forces and 76 journalists physically injured in Nepal last year. The report also holds the Maoists responsible for harassing over 30 journalists.

Imprisonment and house arrest have become common occurrences in Nepal, where there is a strong opposition to autocratic rule despite attempts by King Gynandra to smear his critics as criminals and disregard their voices.

Journalists, in trying to do their jobs, are caught in the middle; vulnerable to attack from both sides of the conflict. More than four journalists have been killed by the Maoists on accusations of spying for the government. The government too has killed journalists for allegedly supporting the Maoists.

The growing violence against journalists has prompted an outcry from civil society, the international press and respected media organisations. However, the government strengthened its position by introducing new laws restricting the free press in October.

The new legislation has the right to impose fines on publishers and editors as well as ban them from publishing material "deemed helpful to terrorists."

Radio stations were banned from broadcasting "news-oriented" programmes under the new laws but the courts issued a temporary order permitting the broadcast of news following petitions by media organisations. Despite massive protest and representations by media organisations, however, the Supreme Court denied legal attempts to block these restrictions on the media.

Looking at recent events, it is obvious that the Nepalese government will continue to repress the media and shun its voice. Presence of armed guards at media organisations, looting, raids, attacks on journalists, kidnapping and arrest are an indication of the hardships to follow. And it is clear that the government will resort to any action that would pave the way for shunning the voice of independent media institutions around the country.

The recent political developments in Kathmandu also do not augur well for the media. Democratic parties, including the Nepali Congress, which is the largest political party in the country, have agreed to a coalition with the Maoists in an attempt to oust the monarchy and elect a Constituent Assembly.

The news of a new Constitution, which will hand over sovereignty to the people and keep the army under the control of Parliament, seems to have convinced the King that the ongoing conflict can only be solved through war.

In a conflict that will label anyone opposing the government as "terrorists," it is certain that the media, which is at one of the most critical junctures in its history, caught in the ongoing conflict between Maoist rebels and armed forces on the one hand and the King’s attempts at autocratic rule on the other, will come under attack more than ever.

Trick or Treat !

In North America ,I found one similar culture to our "BHAILO" of Tihar. Here it is called HALLOWIN.Actually the children will take part in this program. Its coincident that the our Tihar and the Hallowin was in same day and celebrating style is also same . The American people will celebrate this day with decorating the house exactly like in our Tihar. I don't know origin and reason between these two cultural similarities. When the children from my country were playing the bhailo the children here were celebrating hallowin. In Hallowin, children will go door to door and says "trick or treat ". It means show your trick or give any thing as a treat. So the people will give chocolate to the children and give some money. The money which they are begging will goes to the well fare of the children of poor countries. This year UNICEF has given one small box to hang on each child so the house owner can see the box and donate some money for the students of the underdeveloped countries. On this picture also the girl is carrying the pink pox to collect the money. I am very impressed from this work that they are enjoying the festivals as well as helping to survive thousands of colleagues all over the world. It would have better that we could also teach such creative work to our childern rather than promoting them to go picnic.

Basu in San Francisco !

It was my great opportunity to be in popular city San Francisco. I have heard a lot about the city and songs describing its beauty.I found exactly same what ever the people used to talk about it. Clean, developed and sexy. I found it a little bit like our Pokhara valley neither cold nor hot. I was dreaming to make pokhara like this city, while making photographs on San Francisco port with golden bridge on background.

Being a Nepali

I was so curious and excited to go USA since I got my visa . Many people would like to go America and see the life of there and few would like to live there for ever.It is consider that the American life and Japanese wife are the best achievement of the life.. Ok no need to explain more about the America and the curiosity about that..

On the 13th Dec I planned to go San franciso through the New york. So I went to took the bus from Montreal to New york. Since having US boarder no body is allow to go without the passport and visa. It is obligatory to show the passport with the tickets. I was on queue for boarding to the bus, a man with coat and tie came and asked me to show the ticket and the passport. When he saw my Nepali passport he was amazed and questioned me that are you Nepali ? I replied "yes". He saw twice to my passport and me.I was confused and asked is everything all right ? He said "No no ..... I met first Nepali guy in my twenty years job career".

I began my Journey to New york by bus. It was my first time to the United States, the country of dream for thousands of People around the world and most developed country.. I had a lot of curiousity to reach there as soon as possible. The bus startes to move from the Montreal and I kept my eyes opened so I could see all the geography and beauty of mother nature surroundings. But there was full of snow all over the ground, so it was difficult to see the vegitation but eventhough I was enjoying on watching the roads and lands. After one and half hour later the bus was stopped on the boarder of the United states. The operator announced to carry all of our belongings with us and claim the luggage which was on down side of bus. I went to present my self in the boarder police with my passports and the return tickets to Montreal. When the officer saw my Nepali passport he also expressed his great curiousity about the country. He asked me where is Nepal ? I was forced to say that it is near the India, in real which I did not prefer to introduce myself by Using the Indian Identity, but there I was no other way." It means there are Musilms ?'' it was his second questions to me. Then I realized that he was concerned only about the security reasons and just want to make sure that whether I am Muslim or not ? then I imagine that how much these people have consider the Muslims as a terroist. I felt very sorry that all the Muslim community has been treating as a terroist. After the question of that police officer I instantly replied that " Nepal is only Hindu Country in the world" .Because I was aware not to loose the image of my country.

It was almost eight, when I reached on the Manhattan of New york. I was quiet surprised to see the New York . Because it was my first time in such cosmopolitan city. The buildings, roads and cars were the shocking things for me. I had 7.00 am ticket to California so it was early to go airport. I planed there to be early because I did not know any thing about the route and I planned to catch the last bus from Manhattan to JFK airport. But later I new that subway service is available to go there at any time. So I decided to take sub way just few hours ago of my reporting time. I past few hours by taking coffee and pizza but became so boared after few hours on sitting there since no body was there to talk with me. So I decided to go airport and take some rest there. It was almost 12 am and I did not know the route to JFK airport from there. I went directly to the subway ticket counter and asked them the route to JFK airport. They gave me direction but I could not remember where I had to get off so I took the map from them and proper location. I paid seven dollars for the subway and air train which was suppose to take me up to JFK airport terminal. I went directly on the subway to take but I am confused which one to take . I saw the map and took one.Later I knew that the subway which I took was going wrong direction. I was frightened to be lost in such city, eventhough I had enough time so I was able to keep my passions. Then I asked to the one gentleman who was almost 50, for the location how to go JFK , he showed me map and said that you are in wrong direction but remain in seat the same train will be back and had to lake long way. I relaxed after his proper direction and reached on the station to catch air train after near about 45 minutes. It was easy to follow the direction since every where there was sign to follow . I might not able to do all that very easily if did not have any experience of Montreal metro station.

Once again I followed the airtrain which took me up to terminal of Delta airlines which I was going to take. I went directly to terminal but no body was there...It was just 1 am and still there four hours remain for reporting. When I did not saw anybody inside the domestic terminal I was so frightned that what to do, since they have strong security measures . There was no chance to wait out side of the terminal because it was freezing cold. I immdiatley decide to go back in the airtrain station, where at least I could met other passengers and feel secure. So was waiting to go back the airtrain, sweepers were there to clean the floor. They were surprised to see me alone in that building and talked each other in spanish. One of them became so kind and asked me in broken english where are you from and want to go ? I told truth to them that I became four hours earlier to report and I want to sleep few hours. The lady with short hair advised me to take airtrain and go to terminal four where I could get enough space to sleep and eat. It was simple suggestion but rescue for me. I thanked them a lot and reached on terminal four by taking airtrain. I found very good system of airtrain, which runs 24 hours and took the passengers to all terminals by air route. I was so impressed to see the facility.

I found the terminal four for international flights and a lot of people were there . Some were sleeping and some were eating . Then I felt relaxed and secure which was not possible in terminal three. Later I knew that domestic terminal do not have enough facility for spending the night. I opend my laptop and get connection of internet. Really it is great facility for the people who travel a lot. I checked my mail and send some mail to Nepal. I made a phone call too. I get slept two hours on the chairs. It was not comfortable and suitable environment to sleep eventhough I was tired and some how relxed in mood so got sleep for hour.

when it was almost 5 am I went back to domestic terminal and made reporting. I may be earliest person for reporting since there was no body on the line. The security persons told me to put off my shoes and laptop from the bag and put it on the tray. I was consious that they will cheked throughly. I was awared that in random checking they can say anything to do, I heard this from my friends who were already there. So I followed their command and finished in few minutes.

The flight took six hours to reach the salt lake city international airport, the transit point to california. The flight was so long because I was travelling United states east coast to west coast. In this sense I got chance to see the almost geography of United states from the plane. It was visible untill it took 10-20 thousand feets but later the plane took 37 thousand feets, higher than the Mount Everest and there was no way except sleep or watch the movie shown in the plane.

I reached on the Oak Land airport of San francisco on 1 pm local time. I was so excited to see the hills and bright sun. I was living in -10 degree since three moths in Montreal so it was obivious me to feel the california as my homeland.

Hari ji was there to receive me on his white car. I thought that he has done great progress in short time. But later knew that there is no way without the car. Car is highly essential to make their travel easier and safer. That is like bycycle in our terai and motorcycyle in city area. The roads are so wide and at least four lanes. Its almost busy at all time. Every one has hurry .

My friendship with Hari ji was not so long and deep but eventhouh he treated me very well. I found his wife is also kind and caring. Both of them were busy in work eventhough they tried their best to please me. They left me the key of room since they have to leave earlier, and used to make a phone call whether I ate food or not ?

I went to San francisco, North Berkley in thier car and ate mo mo in one Nepali resturant. I ate almost two plate of Mo mo and sekuwa... I was in real looking for some Nepali test for months. It was almost Nepali teste, hot chilli and Nepali speaking community. The conflict of Nepal has made many people refugee in this country. I went to San francisco down town and the Port of san francisco where I found one photographer who complained the slow development process of port . We discussed from te Bush foreign policy to China's human rights. He introduced himself as a glamours photographer and still looking for some faces.. In real there was not enough time to discuss about all these topics so we exchanged our cards. When I came back and checked his web sites where I did not found single picture of girls as I thought, but there was all the picuture of the boys... Then I knew that he was a gay glamourous photographer.
Any way the port was excellent. But I felt regreating my self being alone in such lovely and sexy place.Such place are not for the single one.

Few Nepali people I met in San Francisco were so nice and found so helpful. I found many of them would like to go back in own country and live happily, as they used to live before. They seems not so happy from their current jobs but eventhough the issue of future has made them serious and stopped their will to return soon.

But I found a little bit diffrent in New york. The Nepali people who are living in New York area feels themselves as a semi American. I found them hating to speak Nepali language as much as possible. They were trying to copy down some rough words and culture of American society. After every bad situation they were explaining it as a " oh.....FU....bull... " I met some of guys who were already served in higher posts in Nepal and now a days working in resturants. While I was talking with them they were trying to show superior by saying that they are already favoured by the owner. "I made a lot progress in short time actually I was a simply waiter but now I am second man of resturant" one man was counselling himself. I was well known of the hard life of overseas and every body has to do some work to survive themself but even though he was trying to show me his superior complex.

The most interesting part of the New York trip was the chance to see the New York city in tourist bus. It was double decker bus which has sits on top and where we can see around the city very well. There was some Korean, Japanese and French tourists in the bus. The bus started from the Times square and headed to the city. The guide asked the people for their nation to be familier. When I said that I am from Nepal he was surprised. He asked me twice to be conformed. "Yes , I am from Nepal " Every body turned me and gave a look. " Oh ! the economy of world is booming" the guide reacted to me. I don't know the exact meaning of his reaction but he was surprised to see a Nepali toursit on his bus. It is common that many American visits Nepal as a tourist but very few Nepali visits to America as a tourist. I felt proud my self that I was able to give a shock to the people that the Nepali could be a tourist.

The world trade center , which is now known as "ground zero" was heart breaking point for me.Till after the heart -rending attacked of 9\11 this place has not lost its attraction. Our tour guide was explaining us about the day of 9\11 where 3000 people were killed and hundreds survived by hiding on nearby church. I still remembered that day I was just came back from the Karnali

( the least developed area of Nepal )on sept 11,2001 from the shooting. I was there to shoot the poverty and the condition of health of people which was neglected by the state for years. on the same day the terroist attacked the twin towers of New york and completly destroyed it.At that time there were many questions in my mind about the importance of that tower. I saw the live picture on television about the grief of people and their relatives who lost their lives on that attack. It was my luck to be there after four years on the spot to solve my curiousity . Where I found that two buildings were on the heart of financial area of New york as their pride. They were major attarctions of New york city too. Now a days they are not alive in physically but still in every New Yorkers memories. Still after the four years of that incident people are visiting on "ground zero" to pay their sympathy. The remaining parts of the building laying on the ground recalled me the day when the world was shocked and frightened. There was not single Nepali was dead in that place but eventhough I couldnot stopped my self from crying when I recalled that day and the breathtaking moment which swept out thousands of lives at a time.

Gandhi in San francisco

Statue of Mahatma Gandhi in San Francisco port is an example that the scholars are honored every where. Actually he was from India, thousands miles away from the USA but even though his statue is there probably to inspire the US citizens to follow his non voilence principle.

My sun

Hurry !!

This is the Olympic Park of Montreal , where 1976 olympic game was held. One of the major attraction of this parc is the worlds tallest slope tower. Actually it was built to cover the stadium from the snow and water. But now a days it is one of the tourist attraction. When I visited there in the end of october I saw diffrent countries flags were waiving. I was excited to see the flag of my nation but unfortunately there was not. Later I knew that Nepal was not participant on that game. I visited almost grounds where the olympic game was held, which was still in same condition. After observing all the grounds I felt a little bit excited and thought that so what happen if Nepal was not able to participant the game I will represent the country....So I decided to do take part by jumping as much as I can.............. HURRY !

Sun set

Evening rest

Evening time on the Mount Royal Park, Montreal.

Since located in the center of the city , the park is quite busy in the weekends. Few people would like to walk and few love for biking.I was waiting to enjoy the sun set and was trying to capture its beauty. The sun was being red and the sky was still blue with white lines made by just passed jet.In the meanwhile ,a girl arrived with a bicycle and took her rest on the big stone. She opened her water bottle and took some water. I captured the moment immediately. I was waiting for another snap with full frame of sun on the background and water bottle on her mouth foreground. But unfortunately, she left in a second and I could not repeat this shot. First time in my life, I regreted myself for not being able to catch that moment, that frame I was satisfied than ever in my life.

Letter to my friend

It's just two months that I am far from you and my job. I was expecting some good news from there, but day by day it is getting worse .I heard, the place, where I used to work and spend with you guys has became the ground of confrontation between the armed force and rest of you. I am very worried that how you are being able to tolerate all this things. The government, which is trying to impose autocracy has saw you guys the main obstacle for their plan to eliminate the rule of law from country. I remember when we used to write an article on the favour of peoples and thier concerns most of us were targeted by the securities, who were paid by our taxes. I could not forget that day when Saugat was kidnapped and tortured whole day and night in security van. I can still feel grief and tears of her wife ,which she might have felt whole night . I am now thousands miles far from you eventhough near through the net and surfing online news of Nepal. I just knew that, the chair, where we used to sit with accumulating whole knowledge getting only after many years of journalism school, is now became the tools of rifle man. A man, who never could became a master of his own mind would able to teach you guys how to use your minds?
Dear friend, I am very anxious about the millions of peoples, who already accepted radio as a intimate friend of their life , for an information and education. Thousands of peoples who have already found the radio as their ultimate tool to express their voice. Which was never possible on the history of 50 years of state runed radio broadcasting . I still remember that the women's cheers when she got back her buffalo with in an hour, which was lost since two days, just after an hour we broadcated her appealed to give information of her missing buffalo. I still remember the boy, who was suffering from the heart disease in hospital for months, got well treatment after the news broadcasted to donate for his treatment . Now who will announce the meeting of womens saving group ? how they are becoming empower through the saving and credit program which was lunched only six months ago ?, who will share the information, how to protect their rice crops well for next year. Now, the vegetables grown by 70 years old grand mother, will unable to bring her products up to market on right time. How will she survive ?? The students of the 10th grade who started to environment and health campagin on the village will be stopped . The orientation to the youth about human rights and their responsibility to the society will not be continued . How would the people suffering from the diseases will able to know, that, where is the next free health camp is going to be held ? My dear friend I am so anxious about future of our country. It is well known that in every world , the dictator always wants to crushed the free media ,so they could bombard the propaganda of their regime. But the people of Nepal have already faced this problem in 1959, when the King Mahendra blamed the political parties for not being success to handle the state , and took over the power on his hand. That was the previous era of Neapl, where most of the people were illitrate about their rights so they were easily bruateled. But we are getting the result, the desire to take power on kings hand is nothing else than promotion of corruption, nepotism and slavery.

I am sure now the time has been changed, but the palace has not been changed yet. Many people were already known that what the palace has given to them. The palace which still belives that people are like sheep whom they can easily controlled by the power of gun, would be wrong. The whim of democracy if they will not understand and accept on time no body could save them from swept out.Sure, the day is not so far when the people will be able to decide thier future with their own mind. Then, the journalist of next five years would not have to suffer once again from gun. They will be free to write on the favour of people and the country ever and forever.
